Training Session Report - Saturday 12th November 2022
Training Session Report - Saturday 12th November 2022 - The session tonight kicked off at 6.20pm with coach Tom Iveson, (legend ice man), leading some pre ice warm up, age specific. It’s always great to have a friendly Olympian reminding the young team how important it is to get warm before an intense sprint session.
We hit the ice at just after 7pm. 12 laps followed by left and right leg hang simulation on the inside of the track.
We then hit the core session 8 x 2 laps speed ( my kind of session). Long and flow, inside inside, wide in to close out, 2 in and 2 out, plenty of smiles and exhilaration as all members experimented with speed and track craft. Coach TI explained the importance of position to our youth. They were super engaged and showed that listening to coaches is key to maximise their training.
So blessed to have such a diverse team from new talent, Olympians, World Cup champions and the old grifters who just love to glide.
What a club! what a session!
Our hearts go out to our close friend Ferny Taylor this week. Our thoughts are with you and we wish you a speedy recovery. In the interim Fern enjoy the cake!
If you want to be part of this elite club, newcomers welcome !
