Our sessions are open for all ages, abilities and categories and are open for either the Mohawks club or visiting clubs.  We also warmly (in a cold ice rink) welcome new skaters who wish to join this fantastic club.  Any queries then please contact us at or use the query form below.

GB Short Track Squad - 22/23 Season


The GB Short Track Speed Skating Performance team has recently been officially announced for the 2022/2023 season....and Mohawks IRC have 4 skaters on the team out of a total of 9 skaters. This is fantastic achievement and congratulations to our GB squad skaters : -

  • Want to go fast?? Come and train with us this autumn to go fast in a fantastic surrounding!

  • Summer Training Camps at NottinghamBritish Ice Skating (BIS) are holding a Short Track Speed Skating training camp at NIC Nottingham. It will run from 0730-1630 and include on-ice and off-ice training sessions and workshops. Cost is £40/skater. See any MIRC committee member for details.   • Fantastic racing by the Mohawks IRC skaters at the British Short Track Speed Skating Championships 23rd and 24th April 2022 at Nottingham Ice Arena. We had a haul of medals in a number of age categories from Juniors to Masters culminating in a silver medal for the club in the team 5000k relay championship. Well done all skaters. Awesome!

About Short Track Speed Skating

Short Track Speed Skating is a form of competitive ice speed skating. It is one of the most thrilling of all Olympic Winter sports where competitors race directly against each on a 111.12m oval ice track that fits within a traditional ice rink. It is a sport that welcomes and is open to all ages and skating abilities.


Mohawks Ice Racing Club's head coach is Tom Iveson, ex Winter Olympian and TeamGB squad member.  He is supported by a number of ex Olympic and World Championship skaters including Jo Eley and Steve Humber who help develop the club and future star skaters.   Short Track - Fast, Dynamic, Exciting.
